Wandering the street of Paris a few days ago, I saw posters of President Sarkozy, which riffed on Shepard Fairey’s now-iconic Obama portrait (Fairey’s Studio Number One also designed the cover of Heeb’s Politics Issue). Turns out thatthe poster campaignwas anantic masterminded by Greenpeace to raise awareness of UN climate talks currently taking place in Poland. Each poster bears a different eco-slogan like "Making polluters pay?" and "Producing clean and sustainable energy for Europe?"
Want to know more about the man behind the aesthetic that the hole world seems to be imitating? Check out Joshuah Bearman’s recent piece on Shepard Fairey, originally written for Modern Painters. Bearman will be one of many telling a Jewish story at Heeb Storytelling on December 15 at M Bar in Los Angeles.
