According to the ancient Roman historian Tacitus,

 Though a most lascivious people, the Jews avoid sexual intercourse with women of alien race. Among themselves nothing is barred.

 

Clearly, the whole avoiding sex with shiksas no longer applies, but other than that some things don’t seem to have changed too much since Roman times.  That, at least, are the findings suggested by a new study,  “Religion and Sexual Behaviors: Understanding the Influence of Islamic Cultures and Religious Affiliation for Explaining Sex Outside of Marriage,” according to which Jews are the the most likely to have premarital sex,and Muslims the least.  People can draw from that whatever conclusions they’d like, but Jewdar likes the idea that even if a suicide bomber gets his 70 virgins in the world to come, he’s not going to have any idea of what do with them.
