National Lampoon Version 2.0

Today’s _New York Times_ “trumpets”:http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/25/business/media/25lampoon.html?_r=1&8dpc&oref=slogin the rebirth of “National Lampoon”:http://nationallampoon.com/, the brand responsible for the influential _National Lampoon_ Magazine and a lackluster string of films (well, _National Lampoon’s Vacation_ was pretty great). But with some new movies in the works, including “_National Lampoon’s Bag Boy_”:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0906325/, perhaps this aging frat boy of a company can stage a comeback.

National Lampoon certainly believes there’s still a market for their old-fashioned schtick. Says Daniel S. Laikin, the chief executive of National Lampoon: “College boys still love alcohol, they still love girls, they love to have a good time—those things haven’t changed.” Okay, fair point.

What do you think?

Just as it is good to see Jewfolk integrating their way into motion picture making in California, it is nice to see an organization in New York starting to get involved in the “fashion” scene.
