If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably come to the same inexorable conclusion as I have: The world needs more movies about ne’er-do-well folk singers.
Well, (y)our prayers have been answered, thanks to Minneapolis wunderkinderlach Joel and Ethan Coen, whose next film Inside Llewyn Davis is slated for release this year. With its promotion only now ramping up, the film is already generating a lot of excitement, thanks in part to its all-star cast, and just-released trailer. Check it out below, and keep your eyes peeled for Coen go-to John Goodman, as well as a few brief glimpses of a bearded, be-sweatered Justin Timberlake.
As excited as I am for this (and, I actually am excited for this) I hope it doesn’t mean the Coen’s long-promised adaptation of Michael Chabon’s Yiddish Policeman’s Union is doomed to development limbo forever.

I hate to say this, but I’m betting that Yiddish Policeman’s Union is very doomed to development limbo forever. The reason being A Serious Man and because there simply can’t be that big a demand for Jewish flicks outside our small tribe.
