Radar Online’s The Ethnicist asks C. H. Dalton, the author of _A Practical Guide to Racism_, about the idea that Jews are cursed with curly, unmanageable red locks.
According to Dalton, this is "one of the most unquestioned and most insidious anti-Semitic stereotypes" (really?) and can be traced back to the low, low price of red paint on St. Killjews Day in 18th Century Britain. Fascinating stuff, but a new and much more important question emerges from this explanation: Could it be that the UK’s gingerism is actually anti-Semitism? Ring the alarm!
You know, some of us in Semitic circles get to an age where we would love to have curly, unmanageable locks of pretty much any color except gray or white.
anyone know if Carrot Top is Jewish??
Don’t think so. Maybe Jewdar knows for sure?
Yup. Jewdar will know.
