Asher Roth Releases a Summer Jam (Better Late Than Never)

Before the whole word was obsessed with Drake, there was another Jewish rapper catching our attention. No, I’m not talking about 50 Shekel (what ever happened to that guy?). I speak of the incredibly likable Asher Roth, former elementary school teacher and recipient of the coveted Heeb 100 bump (easily responsible for 78% of his success). The genial and highly skilled rapper is busy working on his follow-up to the debut Asleep in the Bread Aisle. He promises that The Spaghetti Tree will be out sometime later this year and allegedly features production work from Pharrell and Alicia Key’s baby daddy Swizz Beatz.

In the meantime, Roth has released the first single from the album called “G.R.I.N.D.,” and it’s, well, pretty grind-worthy. Play it at your Labor Day weekend barbecue (of course, Heeb asks that you do this after Earl has passed by) and be prepared for the inevitable “who’s this?”-question. The answer, of course, will be “oh, it’s this pretty great Jewish rapper….No, not Drake.”

Grab the single here and watch the teaser/ tour video for the single below.
