Have you found yourself eating a bagel, and thought to yourself “goddammmit, these are just so fucking good. Why hasn’t anyone written a bangin’ club anthem about them yet?” (Confession: I had this very thought the other day, only about really soft toilet paper).
Well, someone has.
I’ll admit, I don’t know anything about rapper NSR, and truthfully, Cream Cheese, Butter, Jelly – his ode to that uniquely Jewish contribution to the breakfast menu – veers heavily into some cloyingly shtick-y territory. That said, when I was done shmeering chipotle cream cheese on my everything-bagel this morning, I couldn’t help but think “Hey, I’ve got some pretty good spread game”. So, if for nothing other than sheer ear-wormyness, NSR’s bagel anthem reigns supreme above all other breakfast-related hip-hop.
