That’s Rabbi Oldman To You

With an 11 percent "fresh rating" on Rotten Tomatoes, The Unborn, David S. Goyer‘s horror flick loosely-based in Jewish mysticism, is by all accounts a cinematic abortion.

Apparently, the story revolves around a young woman who is thrust into a horrible nightmare world after discovering that she’s Jewish. Oh yeah, there’s also something about the spirit of her unborn twin brother is trying to take control of her body. At first the prospect of seeing Gary Oldman playing an exorcism-performing Rabbi in a movie that involves “Nazi twin experiments” sounded too good to be true, snooty critics be damned. However, after considering the PG-13 rating (which guarantees you wont be seeing Kosher hottie Odette Yustman topless, unless Leo DiCaprio decides to show up to do a portrait), the decision to invest my twelve dollars in a fresh pair of socks seems like an easy one.

What do you think?

The point of horror movies isn’t to see someone “topless”, but to be scared. I don’t think it matters that the person is Jewish rabbi or a Christian. Your totally missing the point.

Horror movies are supposed to be scary and shouldn’t have religious stuf

You must be joking, cameron crowbar–what planet are you from? Or do you just avoid culture all together and live under a rock? Awesome horror movies from Nosferatu to Stigmata are heavily under the influence of religion AND sexy.

    And, BTW, its YOU’RE, n

I watch more movies than most people and I definitely know good horror when I see it. But importance of a movie is it’s elements of scariness and I dont think religion is necessary for that.

Maybe its because youre Jewish and everything has to be JEwish

Yeah, right, you mean you watch more ADULT movies than most people. Both those movies I mentioned allude to the Christian faith, anyway, they are not Jewish horror movies.
