Variety reports that head Jew (and early Heeb backer) Steven Spielberg is attached to produce, and possibly direct, the upcoming period piece “The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara.”
The film, based on David Kertzer’s book of same name, will tell the true story of Mortara who, at age 7, was removed from his parents in the mid-1800’s and raised Catholic, ultimately becoming an Augustinian priest in the Catholic church.
As compelling as the story is, and as expertly crafted as the film is shaping up to be (it’ll be written by Tony Kushner, the Lincoln and Munich-scribe) I still would rather Spielberg was – as I first thought while skimming Variety – attached to a Judas Priest movie.
Oh well.
