Today’s edition of “sure, you can, but…why?” comes to us from Dahlton, Idaho, where South Fork Industries, an ammunition manufacturer, recently announced a line of decidedly un-kosher pork-laced bullets designed as a “peaceful and natural deterrent to radical Islam.” Premised on a belief that a Muslim who comes in contact with pork will be unable to enter heaven, South Fork Industries line of “Jihawg Ammo” is:
…The truest form of defensive ammunition ever created in history.
A natural deterrent that prevents violence just by owning it but will strike fear into the hearts of those bent upon hate, violence and murder. Jihawg Ammo is certified “Haraam” or unclean. According to the belief system of the radical Islamist becoming “unclean” during Jihad will prevent their attaining entrance into heaven. Jihawg Ammo is a natural deterrent to radical and suicidal acts of violence.
I’m no munitions expert, but I’m fairly certain that at some point in history there have been truer forms of defensive ammunition. Frankly, aside from those guns that shoot flags that say “BANG”, I’m not sure if ammunition really needs to be on a sliding scale of “trueness” at all. Still, the treyf ammo has become a “thing”, with thousands of Facebook fans, an accompanying line of apparel, and a feature spot on a local news broadcast:
Has the myth of “creeping sharia” really has gotten so bad in the strategically significant state of Idaho that porcine projectiles are necessary? I’ll believe that when pigs fly.

What size caliber is offered?
Great idea. I’ve been saying for years that Israel should bury dead terrorists with pig carcasses so as to discourage similar acts in the future; this is another step in the right direction.
It sounds like a good idea but it does not work. Muslim terrorists are on jihad so they are forgiven all sins, even eating pork.
The Enfield muzzle loading rifle, c.1850, used cartridges greased with lard. The British thought nothing of this but neither did the Muslim terrorists they fought against in Northern India.
Americans campaigning against the Moros (Muslims) in the Philippines a hundred years ago buried dead Moros with pigs or wrapped in pig skin. Again no effect.
