What’s sexier than a bootie-shakin’ hip-hop anthem done Klezmer-style?
Okay, lots of things.
Still, Scott Bradley & Postmodern Jukebox‘s cover of Jason Derulo’s ode to gettin’ it on is pretty goddamned hot, if for no other reason than vocalist Robyn Adele Anderson actually took the time to translate 2 Chainz’s rap into Yiddish.
In the year 2014, when most people’s knowledge of “talking Jewish” begins and ends with different words for “penis” (schmuck, putz, schlong…) this is, surprisingly, a perfect fit (to say nothing of the fact that Derulo’s original sampled from klez/world madmen Balkan Beat Box.) And while it’s not the only dirty-talking Klezmer ditty out there (not by a long shot) it’s definitely a pretty great one.
