Charlie Cooper of the Chicago electronic duo Telefon Tel Aviv has passed away at the age of thirty-one just days after the release his new album, Immolate Yourself.
No word yet if Cooper’s partner Joshua Eustis plans to continue creating music under the name or not. In a Myspace letter to all of the duo’s fans, Eustis took the time to write:
"We have been friends since high school, and began making records together a decade ago. We have been so fortunate to tour the world together, while at the same time having a massive amount of laughs at one another’s expense."
The cause of death is at this time unspecified, but speaking as a fan of the duo’s work, I am deeply saddened at this news.
