Apparently, Amy Winehouse went to the Caribbean on holiday a soul singer and came back boasting a new reggae-flavored sound. And, apparently, it ain’t good. So bad, in fact, that she has to come up with a whole new playlist at her label’s behest.
I suppose one could blame her violent/drugged-out past for this lapse in musical quality, but I think in this case the answer is much clearer: Jews rocking out to reggae is unbearably painful. Matisyahu should have made that amply clear.
