Upon discovering that he has a Jewish mother, NBA superstar Amar’e Stoudemire has embarked on a voyage of self-discovery in Israel where he will spend the next week learning Hebrew, eating falafel and tweeting. “Jerusalem is a beautiful city,” wrote the 6’10” power forward during a leisurely lunch earlier this afternoon, “learning Hebrew by the min. Keep up!!”
Stoudemire, who recently signed with the New York Knicks for approximately $100 million is no doubt enjoying the Israeli hospitality. It is not unlikely that the New York Jewish philanthropic community will be showing him plenty of hospitality upon his return to the U.S.
