_Knocked Up_ In Theaters Now

“Judd Apatow”:http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0031976 ‘s new film _Knocked Up_ opens today and yes, you should be really excited. If you haven’t caught one of the 500 reviews of the movie, let me give you a little rundown.

Ben, played by “Seth Rogan”:http://www.imdb.com/find?s=all&q=seth+rogan/ (an actor/writer I like to describe as Fozzie Bear meets John Belushi) and Allison, played by “Katherine Heigl”:http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001337/ (the prom queenesque beauty from _Grey’s Anatomy_ ) meet at a club, get crazy drunk, have sex and then go their separate ways. He’s a stoner slacker—he and his buddies are working on a website that catalogs when nudity appears in your favorite films, and by that I mean, he is unemployed—and she’s an ambitious TV “journalist”—she was just promoted to on-camera interviewer on the E! Network—so they’re, like, entirely incompatible. But when Allison accidentally gets pregnant (Ben thought when she was saying, “Just do it already” she meant, “Just do it without a condom already”) they decide to give romance a try.

I wouldn’t want to spoil the hilarity by going any further, but I’ll just say that “Leslie Mann”:http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005182/ (Apatow’s real-life wife) and “Paul Rudd”:http://heebmagazine.com/blog/view/99#comment47/ are wonderful as Allison’s miserably married sister and brother-in-law, your favorite _Freaks and Geeks_ and _Undeclared_ alumni make appearances, and you should prepare to be enthralled by a Ryan Seacrest cameo.
