Given the sheer star power brought to bear Shawn Levy’s This Is Where I Leave You, it’s a mystery to me why the film – based on Jonathan Tropper’s novel of the same name – wasn’t more of a presence in 2014. The story of a wildly dysfunctional family forced to spend time together while they sit shiva for their recently deceased father, This Is Where I Leave You features a who’s-who of comedic ringers, including Tina Fey, Kathryn Hahn and Jason Bateman. But, nestled within an ensemble cast that would make Robert Altman drool with envy from beyond the grave, it’s Ben Schwartz, as the haplessly teased, turgidly-inclined Rabbi Charles “Boner” Grodner, who steals the film.
Fortunately, for those of us who can’t get enough Schwartz in our lives (and, if you’re reading this, it’s safe to assume that you fall well within that category) the DVD release of This Is Where I Leave You features the following bonus Ben-centric gag real which the actor recently shared on his Rejected Jokes YouTube channel.
