Look Who’s Coming to Dinner

Dinner ForSchmucks is a Hollywood remake of the 1998 French hit Le Dîner de Cons (The Dinner of Idiots). In theFrench version, a pompous publisher and his similarly bombastic friends invite the most pitiful people they come acrossto a weekly dinner party. On one particular occasion, however, things don’t quite go as planned, and a guest ends up wreaking some havoc. In the American remake,Paul Ruddwill play the havoc-wreaker.

A couple things:

1. I love how in the American version, the word "idiot" is magically translated into Yiddish.

2. This movie reminds me ofthat uncomfortable/hilarious dinner party sceneinBorat. Um…what’s funnier???

What do you think?

Paul Rudd is totally funnier than Borat… and way easier on the eyes. However, will ever a time come when he plays a romantic lead instead of a crazy dude?

Brenna — why don’t you just watch Clueless again… Paul Rudd could have had a career playing those roles, but he gave it up to be awesome.

I agree he’s awesome. There’s just a derth of funny, awesome leading men. What I mean is that most of the time he plays a minor role. Except in that terrible movie with Jennifer Aniston…

I think having a crush on an actor who is known for his pretty blue eyes is not really something worth bragging for. I mean, if you knew that Paul Rudd was a sexual force, then it would make sense to defend him. You don’t know that. Do you?

Paul Rudd plays the lead in the “broamntic comedy”, “I Love You, Man,” which comes out next month. He’s pretty fantastic in it. Though my fave Rudd performance is–undoubtedly–his turn as that jerk-off in “Wet, Hot American Summer.” It wasn’t a lead

I also happened upon a film in which he was the romantic lead this weekend: “The Shape of Things.” Horrid artsy play adaptation. All Rudd fans beware.

Check out the Object of my Affection, where Rudd plays a gay man that Jennifer Aniston falls in love with.

PS — did you dedicate the whole weekend to Paul Rudd?
