Hit the Showers

As many of you know, the National Football League’s New York Jets and Giants will be playing in a new stadium beginning in 2010. Until today, German insuring Giant, Alliantz remained on the short list of those vying for naming rights to the field—the same Allianz which insured Auschwitz, contributed dutifully to the Third Reich and whose chief executive served dually as Hitler’s economic minister.

Allianz, for what its worth, has paid millions of dollars in retribution since then and claims to have put their past behind them. Regardless, feeling the heat of innumerable fans and Jewish interest groups threatening Big Blue and Gang Green boycott, the new Meadowands ownership has ended all talks with the German insurance firm.

Like the majority of football fans, I didn’t and don’t give a shit what they call the new stadium. But if indeed the former “Meadowlands” had become”Allianz”, it might have been in the best interests of Jewish football players Josh Miller, Igor Olshansky and Sage Rosenfels to save their post-game shower for the hotel room.

What do you think?
