This Is a Post to Garry’s Show …

For the past month or so, I’ve literally been nodding off to sleep every night to It’s Garry Shandling’s Show. That is, ever since I got my hands on the 80s series (complete with all 72 episodes and a shitload of DVD extras), which hit DVD October 20. The totally 80s sitcom certainly wasn’t the first that was self-aware, but it did inspire so many shows (Malcolm in the Middle, The Bernie Mac Show, among others) to parody its very format.

Scott Nemes, who played resident pisher Grant Schumacher, told me "Grant’s Date" was his favorite episode. (Natch.) "There were so many groundbreaking things in that episode. It made me realize how unique the series was."
