The Wesleyan College Killer Reconsidered

As you all know by now, last week Stephen Morgan, 29, stormed the Wesleyan College bookstore and totally ruined ex-girlfriend Johanna Justin-Jinich’s day by shooting her to death. Justin-Jinich had issued a restraining order against Morgan in 2007.

Wesleyan students were put on lockdown and police found the killer’s journal at the crime scene with an entry that stated "Kill Johanna. She must Die" and "I think it okay to kill Jews and go on a killing spree at this school." Middletown’s only synagogue, which happened to be located across the street from the bookstore, was temporarily closed down. Justin-Jinich came from a Jewish family, and her grandmother was a Holocaust survivor.

The tragedy is sure to have an impact on Jewish girls everywhere, whose grandmothers now have a new guilt-inducting cautionary tale about what can happen when you date outside the tribe.

Johanna Justin-Jinich was NOT Stephen Morgan’s “ex-girlfriend.” They attended the same seminar at NYU during the summer of 2007, but Morgan did not date Justin-Jinich — he STALKED her.

Also, I realize you’re trying to be ironic, but that last paragraph? Way to blame the victim there, guys.

“I think it okay to kill Jews and go on a killing spree at this school.”
More to the point, I think it’s a cautionary tale of what can happen when you date people with poor grammar :P
