Third and Delaware, a new Tumblr account started by Toronto native Kyle Humphrey, is devoted to the sartorial blue collar kitsch of Roseanne.
Named after the Illinois family’s street corner, Third and Delaware doesn’t only get a gold star for creating an entirely new genre of micro-blogging (sitcom fashion commentary?), but Roseanne Barr calls it the "greatest site about the Roseanne show I’ve ever seen."
What inspired 23-year-old Kyle Humphrey, who was too young to watch Roseanne when it originally aired, to start Third and Delaware?
I started the blog because I started to see these clothes coming back into style. All of these young hipster kids are walking around wearing clothes that look exactly like things that were worn on Roseanne. Whether it’s all the young guys growing beards and wearing plaid or workwear, or all of the young girls wearing leggings and ray bans. The cyclical nature of fashion is really working wonders for the costume choices on Roseanne.I definitely relate to the blue collar fashion that is featured on the show. My wardrobe consists of plaid work shirts, grey sweatshirts and steel toed work boots. I think this has in part to do with the fact that my dad was a lumberjack, but we can say it was because of Roseanne, in part, too.
