Piven Talks Fish on _Letterman_

Jeremy Piven finally gave a bit more of his side of the fish story last night on David Letterman. [Video after the jump.]

Piven dropped out of a hit Broadway revival of David Mamet’s Speed-the-Plow with Mad Men‘s Elisabeth Moss and multiple-time Tony nominee Raul Esparza. He claimed his doctors said he couldn’t continue with 8 shows a week or he might suffer a heart attack, due to mercury poisoning (which his ex-assistant claimed as bullshit, as told right here at Heeb).

On Letterman, Piven said his mercury count had hit 57 (a count of 3 is normal), and that he’d also been diagnosed with the Epstein-Barr virus and had a heart arrhythmia when he was admitted to a hospital last December. He also took a few pot shots at himself.

Last week, an arbitrator ruled in Piven’s favor in a case brought by the show’s producers.

Bullshit or not, I saw Piven in the production a couple months before this all went down, and he was freaking brilliant, as was the entire cast.

What do you think?
