"Billy Crystal was so campy and of a specific time," said Ilana Glazer, who recently launched her Seinfeld-y Web series, Broad City. "This was before the public was so closely connected to celebrities. People were somehow charmed by him."
Her sibling, Eliot, an editor for Urlesque.com who recently scored a book deal for his blog, My Parents Were Awesome, also favored the Long Island schmaltz in a tux on Oscar night. "He made Jews look mildly approachable, although I wouldn’t be averse to seeing Sinbad hold down the stage."
Neither have produced anything as epic as My Giant or City Slickers 2: The Legend of Curly’s Gold, but Eliot and Ilana Glazer have already left a shitload of funny skidmarks across the Web, including my personal fave, Ilana playing Super MarioWorld while stoned out of her gord.
Asuming they’re sober enough to co-host and give running commentary (or otherwise bring enough pot for everyone), do join the Glazers on Sunday at the Heeb Oscar-Watching Party in New York at West 3rd Common at 8 p.m.
