Andrew Giuliani, son of "America’s Mayor," has lost his case against Duke University. He was suing the school for dropping him from the golf team. Giuliani claimed breach of contract, while Duke countered that he had assaulted a teammate, defied coaches and violated "both the rules and the spirit of the game of golf."
Adding insult to injury, Judge Wallace W. Dixon compared Giuliani Jr. to Bill Murray’s loopy greenskeeper character from Caddyshack. Throwing out the case, he wrote that Giuliani’s argument "brings to mind Carl Spackler’s analysis: ‘He’s on his final hole. He’s about 455 yards away, he’s gonna hit about a 2 iron, I think.’"
At least he didn’t follow up that zinger by quoting Rodney Dangerfield’s character and telling the kid to get himself "a real haircut."
Or suggested a way to make $14 … the hard way: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dgxzItaQzw
so, how come Rudy’s kid didn’t tell the Judge that this crappy behavior was a result of his post -911 trauma.
The case hasn’t done much for the sport, but it sure has revived the Golf Joke.
