Diamonds and Spoils

This week’s _New York_ Magazine nods at billionaire “Lev Leviev”:http://nymag.com/news/intelligencer/31549/, a Russian/Israeli Lubavitcher diamond merchant who just bought the New York Times building. This guy is an outlandish cross between Jon Lovitz, a Bond villian and that character on the cover of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Not to mention his holding company is called Africa-Israel. Why not just go ahead and change the name to We Sell Conflict Gems to Jews?

What do you think?

I feel like virtually every one of the Russian oligarchs has somehow been genetically crossed with Jon Lovitz, don’t you?
