No _Commentary_

Working at Heeb, spending all our time conversing with the people in our little Jewish magazine fishbowl, it’s easy to lose perspective. Sometimes its good, then, to go out in the world, and see what’s going on in other little Jewish magazine fishbowls. And Jewdar was pleased as punch to discover that according to New Voices, Heeb remains the gold standard of Jewish magazinehood. There are no pictures in the piece, so it’s hard to get through, so we’ll save you the trouble and tell you that the money shot is in the last sentence of the paragraph that’s second from the bottom. Aw, who are we kidding, we know that you won’t even read that much, so well give it to you here: "It’s not a great Jewish magazine on the scale of Commentary, but it’s still kind of great."

In a publishing environment which has forced many of our peers to shut up shop, "kind of great" is good enough for Jewdar. Thanks, New Voices, and gut yontiff to all.
