One of the (many) reasons people hate corporations is that they try to be all things to all people. Oftentimes they try to appeal to various ethnic and religious groups at the same time. And while that may or may not lead to an image of inclusivity, it certainly doesn’t lead to a particularly strong loyalty from any one demographic.
And that’s what makes Kike Barbershop such a compelling alternative to some Borg-like franchise. Sure, a barbershop in a diverse neighborhood could attempt to service any number of the ethnic communities, many with even a stronger presence than the Jews, and yet, these guys prefer to zero in intensely on the Jews.
But this kind of independent merchant loyalty requires reciprocation or it’s just not sustainable.

I’m pretty sure this Dominican barber shop’s name refers to Kike (pronounced kee-que) — a nickname for Enrique. That should be explained. It’s an unfortunate coincidence.
I’ve been told that in this case kike — pronounced kee-kay — is a diminutive for Enrique. What an unfortunately-spelled nickname for this pobrecito Dominicano to have in Queens!
I think Joanna has it exactly right, and I think the person who posted this knows it, too. And Heeb should know better than to promote stupid jokes that serve no purpose for anyone.

Antisemetism is too much. It’s a cop out to persecute others, for no reason. Every ethnicity was oppressed at some point. This place is Dominican.
