A Transformers movie franchise is one thing. But next up on Hasbro’s development slate: A live-action feature based on Candy Land?
The first film to be produced in a deal between the game company and Universal, Candy Land is to be penned by Etan Cohen, co-writer of summer hit Tropic Thunder. Kevin Lima, who helmed the animation/live action hybrid Enchanted, will direct.
No word yet on casting, or where they’ll shoot the Gum Drop Forest.
Two Hasbro films are set to be released this summer. Michael Bay’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, a sequel to the 2007 tentpole that banked $700 million around the globe, opens June 6, with G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, from The Mummy director Stephen Sommers, fast on its heels on August 7.
