Harvey Herschel Korman died yesterday at the age of 81. We can honestly say that we can’t remember ever seeing him do a role we didn’t like: from the Great Gazoo to The Carol Burnett Show to, his appearances on The Love Boat and other tv shows, and of course, his work on Blazing Saddles as Hedley Lamarr. And while we hadn’t seen much of him in recent years, we consider that a mark of dignity on his part, in that he stuck to voice-over work and never took the route that many in his position have done, of appearing on crappy TV shows to thunderous applause, but leaving the viewer thinking "Oh, that’s so sad." You may not have left the world on top, but you were certainly far from the bottom, and we should all be so lucky.

“Rape, murder, arson and rape.”
“You said rape twice.”
“I like rape.”
Rest in peace, Harvey.
