Let’s Play Two!

What do Rocky and the history of the Jewish people have in common? No, the answer is not “_pain_,”:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1TxiVhrkZA as Clubber Lang might assert. The answer is that both will be honored this weekend by the “Brooklyn Cyclones”:http://www.brooklyncyclones.com/ minor league baseball team in consecutive promotional events.

On Saturday, July 28, the Cyclones celebrate Sylvester Stallone, “one of the most iconic Hollywood stars of our generation” on “Sly Night.” Show up at Key Span Park and you’ll experience a variety of Sly-themed entertainment. For instance, the fan who shows up with the best Stallone costume will receive a “prize pack.” If that’s not enough to ditch the Hamptons for the weekend, keep in mind that anyone named “Sylvester” will be admitted to the ballpark at no charge. And get this: In commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of “_Over The Top_,”:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093692/ the New York Arm Wrestling Association (NYAWA) will host over 100 men and women competing that day for the 25th Annual “Golden Arm Wrestling titles,”:http://www.nycarms.com/Directory_Links/PressMain.htm featuring a championship match taking place (prepare for synergy) _on the dugout_ during that night’s game.

And if you’ve got any more love left after you’ve finished honoring the man who brought you “Marion Cobretti,”:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090859/ “Snaps Provolone”:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102603/ and “Ray Tango,”:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098439/ why not show up Sunday, July 29 to pay tribute to the people who brought you ethical monotheism, 173 Noble Prize winners and a time-honored commitment to social justice? For “Jewish Heritage Night” the Cyclones have teamed up with “Gabila’s Knishes”:http://www.gabilas.com/ for a knish-eating contest on the field before the game. The fan that eats the most knishes in 4 minutes will win yet another Cyclones prize pack. No word as to whether that prize pack will include a 25th anniversary edition of _Over the Top_.
