Who Are You Looking At, Einstein?

A letter Albert Einstein wrote back in 1954 to philosopher Eric Gutkind is expected to fetch between $12,000 and $16,000 at auction this week. Given that the letter describes Einstein’s view that, across the board, religion is basically childish superstition, we’re thinking it’ll either go to an atheist who will frame it, or a creationist who will burn it.

In the letter Einstein writes that "The Jewish people to whom I gladly belong, and with whose mentality I have a deep affinity have no different quality for me than all other people…. I cannot see anything ‘chosen’ about them."

Er, he meant "us", right?

What do you think?
