Wedding Party

What a difference a year makes. As reported by Jewdar last year, when Chelsea Clinton married Marc Mezvinsky, the Forward was kvelling like a Yiddishe mama whose triplets just graduated from medical school, a spectacle which yours truly found a bit unbecoming for a major Jewish periodical. Well, this week, another royal wedding of sorts occurred, in which Lauren Bush, niece of one president and granddaughter of another, wed, David Lauren, son of Ralph Lauren (sadly, she’s hyphenating). The big question for Jewdar is will the Forward be just as proud, or does their sycophantic gushing over “reinvigorating the intermarriage conversation” only kick in when the presidential relative in question is a Democrat?

What do you think?
