Who wouldn’t want to read a book with a description that starts off, "From King David to Ron Jeremy…"? Stop right there, we’re in! The book in question is called Jews and Sex and was written by British Jewish academic Dr. Nathan Abrams. As sexy as that sounds (and Abrams does suggest that Jewish attitudes towards the act are quite liberal), it’s more an analysis of how Jews have viewed sex throughout the ages than a racy romp through the sexual history of the chosen people. While Doc Abrams claims he did not include essays such as the one on Jews in porn (go Hedgehog, go!) to spark controversy or scandal, the British Jewish community is apparently concerned that anti-Semites may glom on to the book as proof of their belief that, as Abrams puts it, Jewish men steal away and corrupt gentile women.
Bring it on, Abrams says. "I did think about this before I put together the book, but these people shouldn’t stop us from having a healthy debate."
