The New New Yiddishists

Vanity Fair might have thought it was cutting edge to identify a group of Jewish writers as being "the New Yiddishists." Well, if there’s a question as to who has the cuttingest edge in the Jewish cultural world, then slap Jewdar with a big chasidishe shechita label, because nobody is sharper than we are. Thus, in the interest of keeping one step ahead of the everyone, we proudly dub Lisa Simpson to be the "Newest New Yiddishist," as in last night’s episode of The Simpsons, she responded to a bat mitzvah invitation with a sheynem dank.
