An Arab-Israeli woman engaged to a Jew survived a drive-by shooting on Sunday that police claimed was motivated by a "desecration of the family’s honor." Apparently, the shots were aimed at the woman’s upper body, which suggested—as if the nature of the shooting itself weren’t enough—that the assailants wanted her dead. And all she wanted for Mawlid al-Nabi was a Jew.
Seems to us that interfaith marriage demands more conversation and fewer cold-blooded murder attempts. Some more Jewish Muslims (or Muslim Jews) might actually do more good than harm. Assuming, of course, that they can handle the jokes.
