Hagee Wire

Alright, alright, so some of you didn’t appreciate the Boob Tube post. Whatever happened to blogs being stream-of-consciousness ramblings? This should be more appealing to you letter-of-the-law types. The delightfully nuts Reverend Hagee, who we’ve mentioned before in reference to his Christians for Israel initiative – a program that embodies the insult-masked-as-flattery so often associated with good Southern Christians – is currently defiling the reputation of one Senator Joe Lieberman, who is scheduled to speak at the Christians for Israel summit later this month.

Hagee’s not bringing Joe down on purpose, it’s really just by association. As part of what appears to have been a preemptive strike against his critics leading up to the summit, Reverend Hagee had various unflattering videos about himself and his various causes removed from YouTube. Unfortunately, all Hagee succeeded in doing was drawing greater attention to his numerous missteps, including a sermon broadcast around the world in which the good Pastor proposed that a "satanic" Jewish banking cabal is plotting to attack American patriotism by devaluing the dollar.

The scandal surrounding Hagee is also beginning to taint McCain, another politician Hagee has expressed public support for. Hagee is a nut, so it doesn’t really matter who he backs. What we can’t understand is why Lieberman compares him to Moses and McCain doesn’t try to distance himself a la Obama and the Reverend?

What do you think?

Oh sure, this post is substanative, but it’s nothing we dont already know. Is it better to just nod our heads and grunt our approval at receiving comfortable topics of convention? The boob story was a true “WTF” piece, be proud of it.

I didn’t know…I’ve never heard of this Hagee guy…and Lieberman is barely on the edges of my consciousness.
