Lots of people I admire got “all worked up”:http://www.littlestevensundergroundgarage.com/cbgb/cbgbhome.html when CBGBs went under. But the whole thing seemed like such a farce to me. Kinda like when you go to the funeral of your miserable, racist uncle and everybody’s talking about what a big mensch he was. Sure, the place had history, but so much of what CBs had become was, in fact, a slap in the face to that history.

Wow – I feel the need to get “sedated†after that video. I can only claim two shows at the patriarch venue of punk rock – Yidcore and the ever so appropriate Gorilla Biscuits (one of the last shows ever). Page 229 anyone?
