Wondering why our blog has been a big stagnant? Well, we’re so busy getting together the next issue that we just haven’t had the time to provide you with nuggets of sarcasm on a daily basis. So we’ve decided that we need some interns over here at _Heeb_ HQ to lighten the load.
We’re a small publication so as our interns you’ll get to see the inner workings of a magazine up close, and make a real impact on the final product. All candidates should live in the New York area and be available one or more days a week. Right now, we’re looking for help in three areas: production/distro, art/photo and editorial.
PRODUCTION/DISTRIBUTION: Duties will include in-house distribution, customer service, light photo scanning and retouching and helping with a variety of other tasks and projects. Candidate should have experience with Photoshop, be interested in _Heeb_ and its core audience, and be highly responsible and detail-oriented.
EDITORIAL: Duties will include research, copy editing, fact-checking, blogging and assisting the editorial staff with special projects. Candidates should have an interest in magazine journalism, experience with copy editing, knowledge of basic html, and an interest in and familiarity with _Heeb_. There will be many opportunities to write.
ART/PHOTO: You will be responsible for helping coordinate photo shoots, retouching images for our website, photographing events, delivering and picking up images from our photographers around the city and helping to manage the art and photo list. Candidate should be an organized self-starter with an interest in photography. Photoshop/ InDesign skills necessary, and owning a digital camera a huge plus.
