_Heeb_ at SXSW (Times New Viking)

While “Lily Allen”:http://www.lilyallenmusic.com/, ” Amy Winehouse”:http://www.amywinehouse.co.uk/ and “The Good, The Bad & The Queen”:http://www.thegoodthebadandthequeen.com/ generated the largest crowds and the most buzz, the best performance I saw was “Times New Viking”:http://www.timesnewviking.com/ at the “Time Out”:http://www.timeout.com/newyork/ showcase. Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, TNV is still kinda messy and all over the place, but the can’t-be-bothered lo-fi trio doesn’t sound quite like anything out there right now. There weren’t more than a hundred or so people at the dingy Exodus venue that night, but the energy in the room made it feel like a thousand. Plus, you’ve got to love a band with a member named “Hamish Kilgour.”
