It’s hard not to love Stan “the man” Lee. “Stanley Lieber,” who saved his birth-name for the great American Novel he never wound up writing, gave the world The X-Men, Spider Man, and The Hulk (to name just a few), and remains one of America’s living legends. It’s no exaggeration to say that without him we would live in a very, very different world.
And so, when Stan wishes us a “happy holidays,” we listen. Especially when we know (well, we hope) he’s going to spend Christmas eve hitting the movie theater after a dinner of General Tso’s Chicken.
Excelsior!
