Cops shut down the operation after neighbors complained about smoke. My personal favorite part of the story is this evocative tidbit: “The rabbi uses a crank made from a converted exercise bike to mill the flour for the unleavened bread – pushing the peddles with his hands.” It’s like a wacked-out Mika Rottenberg video or Rube Goldberg contraption. But all in the name of delicious matzoh!
