Before Live Nation, There was Sid Bernstein

We understand that not everyone can handle the fast, exciting pace of the Heeb LifestyleTM. Sure, you want to see a documentary with the last filmed interviews of both James Brown and Tito Puente, you want to see a documentary about the guy who brought the Beatles to Shea Stadium, and one about the guy who essentially created stadium rock in America, and the guy who promoted more or less the entire British Invasion, and the one about the promoter who helped to spawn the popularity of Asian martial arts in America, but who has time for all that? Well, with a little luck, and a little more gelt, you do.

Jason Ressler, long time FOJ, is putting the finishing touches on his magnum opus, Sid Bernstein Presents, about the guy (Sid Bernstein, in case you didn’t figure that out yet), who did a whole lot of the stuff we just talked about. Featuring interviews with innumerable (though we’ll admit we have poor math skills) music legends, the film is a loving, but informative look at a guy who reshaped music as we know, made our playlists richer in the process. Here’s the clincher, though–to finish it up, Jason needs money. It doesn’t have to be yours, but if you’re feeling generous (and, let’s face it, you could really go another week without any more porn), head to their website and drop a few pennies in the pushke. Not only is it a movie worth seeing, but aftwerwards, you’ll be able to call yourself an associate producer.
