Next, England’s third largest clothing retailer, recently recalled one of its new underwear designs after one person complained about an image that resembled Hitler.
Apparently, for the complaining consumer simply choosing not to buy the underwear was not enough–he had to make sure none of us could buy them either. And unbelievably, Next kowtowed to this idiocy.
But it gets even worse. The image in question wasn’t even of Hitler, it was actually inspired by a picture of Lenin. Said a spokesperson for Next, “If even one customer is offended or upset we are happy to withdraw the range."
Okay then, let’s put this spokesperson’s promise to the test: I find these pre-ripped, acid wash Jeans hideous and offensive to my sensibility. Get rid of them!
Arguably, Lenin actually killed (or indirectly caused the killing) of many more people than Hitler did. So either way, the panties are no good.
