Heeb Fundraiser for Obama: New York, NY

where: Fontana’s

when: Oct 14 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Okay, so we’ll admit that Obama wasn’t all we’d hoped he would be. He hasn’t cured any peasants of scrofula, caused pregnant women to bear twins, or guaranteed a good harvest. Still, as cavalier we may sometimes seem about the state of the universe, he is so superior to McCain that we can’t even make a joke about it. If you’re like us, you really, really want “The Ragin’ Beige One” to win, attend our first-ever political fundraiser—with music from Salt and Samovar, Leah Siegel and Swati; comedy from Mike Albo, Andy Borowitz, Jordan Carlos, Seth Herzog and Gabe & Jenny, free cocktails courtesy of Los Generales Tequila, and a free subscription to the magazine favored by more than two to one by creepy gentile men with Jewess fetishes—all for a 50-buck donation (and for Heeb to give away free subscriptions, you know this race is serious).

Heeb 100 Opening Reception: Brooklyn, NY

where: 3rd Ward

when: Oct 16 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Join Heeb Magazine for the opening reception of the Heeb Hundred Portrait Exhibition. The third annual event is both a measure of where young Jews are today and a window into their future. The Heeb Hundred consists of artists and actors, musicians and movie-makers, comedians and creative-types, foodies and fashionistas, innovators and intellectuals that you need to know about it. This year’s Heeb Hundred exhibition will travel from New York to Houston, Washington, D.C. and Chicago. The opening reception at 3rd Ward will feature complimentary cocktails, courtesy of Clemente Rum, and a live performance by singer-songwriter (and Heeb Hundred honoree) Pepi Ginsberg.
