Good news, the thing is, still not everyone can taste this Kopi Luwak because it's incredibly expensive. My question that still lingers in my head, how will one know if they are tasting the real deal., free taste of kopi Luwak should also be available...

Kopi Luwak, the name given to this very expensive, gormet coffee was featured during the movie the Bucket List staring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. It retails between $100 and $600 per pound and is the most expensive coffee in the world.

So to follow up on Joshua's comment, these clerics have determined that it's okay to drink 'coffee' rendered from cat feces. I will think twice about stopping by the halal cart on 53rd and 3rd.

The beans are not made from droppings, rather, the Asian Palm Civet eats the fruit in which the beans are contained and passes the beans, which are infused with the cat's digestive enzymes. These enzymes make the coffee aromatic and far less bitter.

A food is deemed kosher or halal according to what the food it and how it is prepared. The rules for such practices are found in holy texts. So, in essence, God determines what makes something edible, not religious figures.
