“Please Sir, Kug I Have Some More?”

Yiddishkayt LA recently hosted their second Kugl Kukh-off. The contest was judged by LA Weekly food critic Jonathan Gold, restauranteur and KCRW’s "Good Food" host Evan Kleiman (don’t miss her Angeli Caffe in LA), Senior Associate Editor of Bon Appetit Amy Albert and our own Joshua Neuman (always in search of free food).

After devouring 39 entries of sweet and savory kugel, including one made entirely of candy, Neuman decided he just had to go back for seconds. This resulted in his inadvertent discovery of a mislabeled kugel, which would have otherwise cost the rightful winner her place in the annals of Kugl history.

You can hear all the details on the KCRW podcast (13 minutes in).
