Bacon and its various permutations (baconnaise, bacon cupcakes and bacon books, to name a few) have been clogging the arteries of popular food culture for some time, but the craze may be going into cardiac arrest. My prediction for the next meat trend? Gefilte fish!

Earlier this week, an article in the Washington Post explored the history and cultural significance of the gefilte fish—from it’s beginning, when it was considered an aphrodisiac for couples during the Sabbath, to Heeb’s own gefilte fish wrestling matches. The future for this mushy off-white fish matter is only as limited as our imaginations: gefilte ice cream, gefilte-tinis. Hell, we could even try wrapping it in some good ol’ fashioned pork bellies.
