Freakonomics author and The New York Times blogger Stephen J. Dubner confirmed one of Heeb‘s long-held suspicions with today’s post: "Obama the Talmudist?"

In a big push for health care, Obama asked, "When is the right time? If not now, when? If not us, who?" Dubner spotted this language from a book of teachings by Jewish sages. Check out the original: "If I am not for myself, who will be for me? And if I am only for myself, what am I? And if not now, when?"

Deep, right? It’s attributed to Babylonian Jewish sage Hillel the Elder, a well-known supporter of health care reform. A bit of the quote was also used as the title of Primo Levi’s WWII novel and, as Dubner mentions, to sell Doritos. Plus, the acronym adds a dramatic Jewy touch to text messages, e.g., "Bitch, get ur azz over here. Party almost dun. INNW?"

In related news, Vice President Joseph Biden gave Israel a hot, sloppy tounge kiss yesterday, promising that the Obama administration will prevent Iran from getting the bomb. Biden even wrote Shimon Peres a love letter:

The bond between our two nations has been, and will remain, unshakeable. Only together can we achieve lasting peace in the region.

Going forward, this administration will be monitored for hidden signs of Judaism.
